Re: Stargate-Universe

So, a handful of human survivors of a massive attack find themselves depending on a busted-up spaceship in a fight for survival. There are tensions between military and civilian personnel, there's a brilliant scientist who can't be trusted, and its all filmed in a stark and gritty style. Gee, where have I seen this before?

Indeed, elements of SG:U have BSG written all over it. There is, however, the notion that if someone does a story really well, why not use that formula in your own story ;) IMHO, the Stargate world needed this boost. SG:Atlantis was SG1's half-sister. SG:U is like meeting, for the first time, a really intriguing distant relative.
