Too Early to say for certain, but Book 09 might expand from 12 to 14 chapters. Mainly because having Keeler back in New Cleveland and interacting with characters from his past is proving to be a lot of fun, and I might need more space to explore the possibilities. I've kicked around the idea of doing a Sapphire-based book when the Pegasus journey is complete, and I'm getting a little chance to explore the planet's culture through the chapters in this book dealing with Keeler's life on his home planet.
There's also subtextual things that I know about... for example, that Keeler's wife was having an affair at the time she was killed, that the Aurelians had infiltrated Republic's government ... that I use in my mind to shape how the characters act and what's going on in the world around them, and I debate whether I want to state any of that explicitly in the story or keep it as sub-text. I honestly don't know how those will play out, and I'm kinda curious to see what happens with them.
